LONG WAY HOME is Epidemic… Over’s 3rd EP release. The EP was recorded in Karibu studios in Central Queensland - a studio literally called ‘Welcome’ in Swahili tongue, which was a converted Queenslander homestead - over a month-long stay in a century-plus-old mining town named Mount Morgan. While there, the Epidemic…Over quartet were made to feel welcome in the small community at the local pubs and fishing and camping spots. This relaxed atmosphere and careful construction of the final tracks has produced the band’s most triumphant and mature recordings, ready to welcome new fans and old alike into the Epidemic…Over family.
New Single Runaway is a rare quiet moment from the quartet, a musing on running away from problems or facing them head on. It’s a personal moment from front man, Nathan Bedford and showcases the singer’s ability to go from soft, reflective moments to those urgent, desperate moments of emotional connection with the listener.
